Rose + Lavender Syrup for Soft Love

I originally made this syrup because I wanted something pretty for my morning coffee. Since I’ve mostly cut off my habit of going to soooooo many coffee shops, being able to make my own syrups and flavor combos has been soooo fun.

+ of COURSE I love bringing my magical herbs into them.

Recently, a sweet friend shared something that got my wheels turning: she doesn't really know soft love.

She was raised primarily by her dad + understands/is MOST comfortable with tough love. She understands pushing through, being independent, resilient, + strong.

But softness + receiving support + being cared for gently??? THAT is foreign

I think a lot of us can relate. A lot of us can view that as weakness.

Many of us were taught that love looks like sacrifice, proving ourselves, surviving difficult things together. Especially as women these days, we learned that being strong was safer than being soft.

Somewhere along the way, we started viewing softness as weakness.

But nature disagrees, + let me dig into that with a bit of my more “woowoo” observations:

Spring arrives softly.

Flowers bloom softly.

The sunrise doesn't force itself into the sky.

The most beautiful things unfold gently + slowly + take up space BY taking their time, knowing the slowness + softness is what others find the most beautiful.

That's why I loooove the energy of rose + lavender together.

Not because they're trendy or because they smell pretty (both true thoooo), but because they remind us of a different + softer way of loving.

The Spiritual Energy of Rose

Rose is pure heart energy.

Spiritually, rose is associated with:

✨Unconditional love
✨Self-love and worthiness
✨Emotional healing
✨Compassion and softness
✨Receiving love, not just giving it

Rose doesn't force the heart open because it creates safety first + gently reminds us that we don't have to earn love through exhaustion, overgiving, or perfection.

Raise your hand if THAT one hit you in the chest.

Energetically, rose tells us:

"I am safe to love and be loved."

It supports healing old relationship wounds, releasing emotional walls, + stepping into a more receptive, feminine energy.

The Spiritual Energy of Lavender

If rose opens the heart, lavender helps us relax enough to let it happen.

Lavender is associated with:

✨Emotional balance
✨Peace + surrender
✨Nervous system support
✨Gentle openness
✨Releasing control + tension

Rose says: "You are worthy of love,"

Lavender says: "You can stop bracing for impact."

It quiets mental chatter, softens overthinking, +, thus, creates a feeling of safety within the body.

Divine Feminine Rose + Lavender Coffee Syrup

✨ingredients:
1 cup water

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons dried lavender (or more if you need more of that energy)

2 tablespoons dried rose petals (or more if you need more of that energy)

✨instructions:

Combine water + sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.

Add the lavender + rose petals.

Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Remove from heat and allow to steep for another 5 to 10 minutes (or longer… my personal Problem is patience lmao)

Strain out the herbs and flowers (+ of course drop them outside to return back to the earth).

Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Add to coffee, tea, lemonade, or any ritual drink that could use a little more softness.

Pro tip: stir three times clockwise in your drink + visualize the soft love you want to embody as a symbol to call that in.

A Simple Ritual

The next time you make your morning coffee, pause for a moment before your first sip.

Ask yourself:

Where can I soften?

Where can I receive instead of constantly giving?

Then stir that syrup into your bevvy three times to the right to call in the soft love you’re craving.

Softness is not weakness; it is the bravest thing we can choose.

Muah muah muah,

Suzy
